Ad of the Day: Erste Bank’s animated Christmas spot touches on energy crisis
The Vienna-based banking group has become well-known for its annual festive campaigns, earning many views and awards.
In ‘Believe In Christmas,’ viewers see a mysterious man who takes it upon himself to ruin the holidays for everyone in a small village. All through the night, the mean character cuts power boxes and sabotages the gas tanks of cars. Due to his actions, people in the town are met with an energy crisis.
Determined not to let the miserly man spoil Christmas, the villagers come together to lift each other’s spirits and celebrate together with what they have.
Mario Stadler, head of group brand management and communications at Erste Group, said: “This year’s advert addresses all of us and the many challenges we are facing as a society right now. In times of need, strong communities are the ones in which people help each other out. That’s what we want to show in #believeinchristmas. Coming closer together – that’s what Christmas is really about.”
