Paramount+ is once again using its range of TV and film characters in its latest push to promote the streaming service. In the 30-second clip, created by Droga5, viewers are taken to Mount Paramount ‘where entertainment lives’ as a dramatic storm is brewing.

‘The Storm’ begins on the snowy mountain top, where a bucket of water from the movie Flashdance is threatening to pour down on iconic characters from Star Trek, South Park and Transformers. As the water cascades down, the inhabitants of Mount Paramount recreate Jennifer Beale’s classic chair dance scene from the 1983 film.

As the clip concludes, the massive bucket drops down from the sky and kills South Park character Kenny – who has apparently died 126 times during the show’s run.

Previous editions of the campaign featured South Park’s Eric Cartman, Butt-Head from Beavis and Butt-Head and Halo’s Master Chief character.

The tongue-in-cheek marketing push comes as Star Trek: Picard season 2 dropped on the platform on March 3 to fans’ delight.
