Tom Hardy’s Legend ad hides its mediocre Guardian review in plain sight
A Guardian movie critic has expressed his surprise at the devious way marketers for Tom Hardy’s Kray twins biopic ‘Legend’ hid his poor review on promotional posters.
Orchestrating a deception worthy of even the Kray Twins themselves, the movie poster actually used Benjamin Lee’s two star appraisal for the Guardian, planting it front and centre.
Sitting between the Krays, the two star review relies on viewers’ assumption that no promoter would actually include such a poor write up, implying more stars are sitting behind both Tom Hardys.

Critic Lee even applauded the efforts to hide his ‘hate’ of the film.
Incredible way of making my two star review seem like I didn't hate the film pic.twitter.com/zvOyIxHQ3h
