Virgin Media wheels out a motorbike-riding Highland cow to promote fast wifi
Virgin Media is picking up speed with a motorbike-riding Highland cow for its latest campaign.
An evolution of its ‘Why walk when you can ride?’ proposition, the film tells the story of the free-spirited cow who embarks on a motorbike journey after being inspired by biker scenes streamed via wifi to Glen Coe.
Positioning its wifi guarantee as being analogous to living life in the fast lane, the 60-second spot promises a minimum speed of 20Mbps in every room – or your money back.

David Masterman, deputy executive creative director at VCCP London, said: “This new campaign reinjects Virgin Media with its iconic attitude, showing how we enable our customers to go to better and beyond, embodied by a Highland cow on a Triumph Bonneville.”
The high-concept cinematic piece was directed by Jeff Lowe and voiced by actor Peter Mullen, with lifelike CGI produced by Untold Studios. It won’t be the last time we see Virgin’s hairy mascot, with the beast set to feature heavily in brand and trading campaigns through to the end of the year.
Virgin Media has previously got people talking with the creation of an interactive 4D mouth.
